Our December 2021 show
A Christmas Carol

True Repertory Theatre presented for their December 2021 show a fresh take on the Charles Dickens holiday classic, A Christmas Carol.
This hourlong original and musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol is by Jim Sullivan and Donald Sheehan; it takes a fresh look at the beloved character, Ebenezer Scrooge. In typical True Rep fashion, the focus of this production is on the storytelling. “We chose to get down to the bare bones of this story. It feels appropriate, given all that our community has been through during this pandemic, to focus on, and celebrate, simplicity,” said Donald Sheehan, who is also the Artistic Director of True Rep. Jim Sullivan, a local playwright, whose original work “Ellen's Boys” is next in the True Rep lineup, said, “Just a few actors create 30 characters; giving life to a story that will ignite the holiday spirit in the most cynical among us.”
The show performed at The Beal House, 222 Main St. in Kingston, on December 3, 4, 10, 11 at 8:00PM, and December 5 and 12 at 3:00PM.
As part of True Rep Theatre's Project 719 charitable division, True Rep collected canned goods for the Vineyard Resource Center in Kingston, and worked with the Kingston Fire Department in collecting new, unwrapped toys for the charity, Toys For Tots.
